Dickens The social role of the writer

This is a good way to learn about a writer in a fast past got to go world.

But nothing could take away the joy of reading a good book with that you could hold in your hand.
Then add a writer that want to change to the world though a work of fiction gives it meaning.
What say you? Have you read something that made you think and then do something about what you  have read? Is it really fiction?  Even if it was only art imitating life. Life is in a way are own perceived and sometimes shared fantasy.
